Subject Organization

Albert's ACT® Science course is organized into two tabs: the Practice tab and the Assessments tab.

Practice Tab

Our ACT® Science course includes 3 themes organized by passage type seen on the PreACT® Science assessment. These include
  • Data Representation
  • Research Summaries
  • Conflicting Viewpoints
Each theme is broken down into the four domains of science that could be assessed on the ACT® Science exam. These include:
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Earth and Space Science
  • Physics
Each topic is broken down into subtopics that contain individual passages for each domain. For example, here are the subtopics in the Physics topic of the Conflicting Viewpoints theme:
  • Efficiency of a Combustion Engine
  • Remote Sensing in the Negev Desert
  • Funky Robot

Assessments Tab

The Assessments Tab includes 1 Full-Length Practice exam that mimics the style, rigor, and question types of the actual exam.

Using Standards to Find Questions

Standards

Every question is aligned to the standards outlined in the ACT® College and Career Readiness standards for Science. Each standard begins with either 'EMI', 'IOD', or, 'SIN' as dictated by the reporting categories.
You can find questions aligned to learning standards using our standards search tool. In the Standards drop-down at the top of the Assessments tab, you can search for standards by name (for example, SIN 303) or description. When you type in characters that match one of the standards, the drop-down will populate with matching standards.
For more help on finding questions using standards, visit our Help Center.

Question Types

ACT® Science uses questions that have been designed to match the rigor and format of the official exam. Each question is a multiple-choice question with four answer choices.
