You’re already taking a heavy course load, studying overtime to prep for the ACT®s, and now you need to think about what schools to send your scores to so they arrive in time for admissions. As if life isn’t stressful enough, right?

Well, we have wonderful news for you! Schools aren’t out to get you. They’re on your side. What do we mean by this?

There is a wonderful practice that many schools, possibly even your dream university, have put into place called super-scoring.

Here’s the deal: when you get your ACT® scores back, you’ll see a bunch of numbers. One score for each section—reading, math, science, etc.–and one big composite score. Typically, schools have only reviewed your highest set of scores, or whichever scores you wished to submit to them.

Super-scoring (which is super awesome) means this: you can submit all of your test scores from every sitting, and the school you applied to will only look at your highest score from each section, even if you took the test on different dates. Say you took the ACT® two times and on the first time, your math score was high and your reading was lower. On the second time, your reading score was higher, but your math may have dipped a few points.

With super-scoring, you get the credit for having a high math and a high reading score, even if you didn’t get them on the same day!
