Within each theme, you'll find short, formative reading quizzes. Each topic quiz is designed to be given in a single class period. The quiz questions mimic the rigor and format of the actual exam. For example, here are some reading quizzes:

The course contains 2 credit and 4 credit Constructed Response questions aligned to the NY State Test Grade 6 ELA assessment including paired passage responses. For the Paired Fiction and Paired Non-Fiction Constructed Response questions, there is a 2 credit response question about each passage and a 4 credit response question that compares both passages. The remaining 2 credit response questions use the same passages as the corresponding reading quizzes in the course, so you can easily pair the reading questions with the written response about the same passage.

Every question is aligned to the standards outlined in the New York Next Generation English Language Arts Learning Standards for Grade 6. Each standard begins with the state abbreviation NY.
