Subject Organization

Albert's PreACT® English course is organized into two tabs: the Practice tab and the Assessments tab. In each tab, each course is broken into themes or units of study.

Practice Tab

Our PreACT® English course includes 5 themes organized by passage topics such as Personal Narrative, Biography, or Science.
Each theme includes passages related to that topic. For example, here are some topics within the Science theme:
  • 10,000 Steps
  • Antares Rocket
  • Segmented Sleep
  • Yakei, Alpha Female

Assessments Tab

The Assessments Tab includes 2 Full-Length Practice exams which mimic the style, rigor, and question types of the actual exam.

Using Standards to Find Questions

Standards

Every question is aligned with the ACT® College and Career Readiness standards for English.
You can find questions aligned to these testing points using our standards search tool. In the Standards drop-down at the top of the Practice and Assessments tabs, you can search for standards by name (for example, ORG 401) or description. When you type in characters that match one of the standards, the drop-down will populate with matching standards.
For more help on finding questions using standards, visit our Help Center.

Question Types

PreACT® English uses questions that have been designed to match the rigor and format of the official exam. Each question is multiple choice with four answer choices.
