Subject Organization

Albert's PreACT® Reading course is organized into two tabs: the Practice tab and the Assessments tab. In each tab, each course is broken into themes or units of study.

Practice Tab

Our PreACT® Reading course includes 5 themes organized by passage genre including Literary Narrative and Informational Passages.
Each theme includes passages of that genre. For example, here are some topics within the Informational | Natural Science theme:
  • Barred Owl Management
  • Tsunamis and Geology
  • What is Wind Shear?
  • Food on Mars

Assessments Tab

The Assessments Tab includes 2 Full-Length Practice exams which mimic the style, rigor, and question types of the actual exam.

Using Standards and Tags to Find Questions

Standards

Every question is aligned with the ACT® College and Career Readiness standards for Reading.
You can find questions aligned to these testing points using our standards search tool. In the Standards drop-down at the top of the Practice and Assessments tabs, you can search for standards by name (for example, CLR 401) or description. When you type in characters that match one of the standards, the drop-down will populate with matching standards.

Tags

In addition to standards, questions include tags to help differentiate and filter the practice content. PreACT® Reading uses Albert's Core ELA skills tags so you can search by skill like "inference" or "central-idea."
For more help on finding questions using standards and tags, visit our Help Center.

Question Types

PreACT® Reading uses questions that have been designed to match the rigor and format of the official exam. Each question is multiple choice with four answer choices.
