Subject Organization

Albert’s Regents Earth Science course is organized by content themes and further broken down into topics. Our full subject guide includes three themes of different practice materials.

Topics Quizzes

Within each theme, you'll find a set of short, formative topic quizzes. Each topic quiz is designed to be given in a single class period. The quiz questions mimic the rigor and format of the actual exam. For example, here are examples within the Topic Quizzes theme:

Practice and Released Exams

Our practice exam theme has full-length practice exams that are unique to Albert. The secure questions on these exams are not available anywhere else. Each practice exam section mimics the exact style, rigor, and structure of the actual exam. Our released exams are replicas of released Regents exams from previous years.

Using Standards to Find Questions

Standards

Every question is aligned to the standards outlined in the New York State Physical Setting/Earth Science Core Curriculum. Each standard begins with the state abbreviation NY.
You can find questions aligned to learning standards using our standards search tool. In the Standards drop-down at the top of the Assessments tab, you can search for standards by name (for example, NY Major Understanding ES.4.1.1i) or description. When you type in characters that match one of the standards, the drop-down will populate with matching standards.

Question Types

Regents Earth Science uses two question types to test students’ understanding of content and provide meaningful practice of important skills These question types include:
  • Multiple Choice
  • Free Response Questions

Calculator Use

Students are permitted to use a four-function or scientific calculator through the Regents Earth Science exam. Read full details here
